DJ SUGAR PDX – PORTLAND, OR

DJ Sugar’s passion for spinning records began in 1988 when he began working for his parents’ roller rink, picking through their collection of pop, disco, funk and new wave singles.

By the late 90′s and early 2000′s, DJ Sugar was a staple in the Portland, OR club community. In 1998, he started “Wet Wednesday” at Hu Song and Larry’s on the Willamette river, which quickly became the largest outdoor event in Portland for the next 10 years. Then, in 1999, Sugar was welcomed as a reoccurring headline DJ for The Champagne Ball at the Hilton in Downtown Portland, the area’s largest New Year’s Eve celebration averaging over 1,500 people each year.

With every dance club, venue and sports bar in Portland feeling the pull of DJ Sugar’s diverse brand of entertainment, Sugar went to Las Vegas in 2008 where he quickly established a routine seven days a week DJ’ing and promoting for venues including Freemont Street, the Palms, the Rio, and even The Hard Rock Café and Casino. Even with his quick success and increasing schedule, DJ Sugar heard home calling and returned to Portland.x x

Currently, DJ Sugar has rotating residencies at some of the busiest up-and-coming hot spots in Portland, proving his marketing savvy and relentless work ethic is still second to none.

Having made quite a splash all over New York, Miami, Las Vegas and the West Coast with his blend of Top 40 Dance and House music, DJ Sugar is focused on expanding his online community and continuing to grow both as a musician and industry professional.
