NORMAN ROCKSWELL – JOPLIN, MO

DJ Norman Rockswell currently resides in Joplin, Missouri, but this is not where his journey began.  On Halloween night in 1999, he attended his first EDM festival in Columbia, Missouri.  The way the crowd moved to the hypnotic melodies, strange videos and intense lights had him instantly hooked.  For the next three years he was part of the Kansas City music scene working, watching and learning from some of the best DJs from Kansas City, Chicago, Detroit, and New York.  In the winter of 2002 he began a seven year stint of playing house parties, school dances, and produced mix CDs under his previous name DJ DaCoda. His mixing style is influenced by artists like Fatboy Slim and Bad Boy Bill. Other influences worth mentioning are Micro, Tiesto, ATB, AM, Jazzy Jeff, Gabriel and Dresden, Krafty Kuts, and Icey.

In the summer of 2009, Norman began his work as a mobile DJ. Ranging from weddings to school dances to corporate events, Rockswell does it all. He has performed throughout Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas which improved his skills as a mixer and MC.  It’s not unusual for him to mix country and hip hop one weekend while playing EDM the next.  If you are looking for a true professional with 15+ years of experience then book Norman Rockswell!
