MARC X

DJ Marc X is known as a pioneer in the city of El Paso. He was responsible for bringing hip hop to the cities of El Paso and Juarez, Mexico.

Marc X’s entrance into the radio market was a phenomenal experience and solidified his already strong stance in the city as its number one hip hop and R&B DJ. He attributes his success to a chance meeting with Jam Master Jay from Run DMC.  DJ Marc X told him how he had impacted in his life in a positive way.  That meeting encouraged him to want to be the best DJ in the U.S.A.  He continues to disseminate music to the masses with the release of several mixes and will release a self titled autobiography.

DJ Marc X’s love for music and entertainment prompted him to launch a local hub for aspiring entertainers from singers to actors.  The Urban Entertainment Association (U.E.A.) was founded in 2000.  DJ Marc X collaborated with local entertainment business consultants to create a unique opportunity for up and coming artists from various avenues within the entertainment spectrum.  Not wanting to be another fly by night operation presenting false hopes to local entertainers, he endeavored to take as much time as possible to build something special that would not only expose local talent, but teach them the business in the process.  The mission of the Urban Entertainment Association is designed with collaborative efforts in mind. El Paso’s talent pool is vast and artists need efficient means in which to promote and educate themselves.  From actors, singers, comedians, dancers and spoken word artists, The UEA of El Paso will be the voice for El Paso’s true and talented Urban Music & Entertainment Artists.  The premiere project: Sun City Entertainment Festival will be the venue for seminars and workshops on music, entertainment, dance, film and more. DJ Marc X says the entertainment business is growing especially on the internet and he hopes artists will take advantage of all the association has to offer.
