DJ DROP – WASHINGTON, DC

Kyle, aka “DJ Drop”, was born and raised in the Washington DC area but in 2004 he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, to study Music Theory and Performance at North Central University.  After school, he was invited to tour with multiple bands, thus launching his professional music career.  He excelled as a touring drummer in the hip-hop and punk rock scene, and performed on several records over the course of the next 6 years.  After settling back down in DC and drumming on several hip hop and pop projects,  Kyle was intrigued with the life of the musical producer.

From 2011 – 2013, he mixed and recorded with a large number of bands and artists, and started to dabble in DJing.  Through his work, he began to fall in love with electronic music.  This sound turned him onto Dub Step, which led to dance, which led to techno, and finally landed him in the world of EDM (electronic dance music).  He continued to dabble in DJing and, through the help of friends in the industry, Kyle quickly learned the ins and outs of spinning and became a master on the turntables.  He started performing weekly at local bars and eventually made his way into the nightclub and lounge scene, as well as corporate events and weddings.

To describe Drop’s current style is nearly impossible because he crosses so many genres in both his production work and live DJ sets. His trademark “The Drop” signature sound is a blend of house, pop, rock, hip-hop, and EDM. Drop’s live sets are infused with relentless energy, as he flows in and out of tracks flawlessly and keeps fans guessing with his unexpected transitions.

Currently, Drop can be seen on the regular at many of the most popular clubs and event venues in the DC area. His resumé includes Alero on U Street, Whiskey Park – W Midtown Atlanta, Top Golf, The Lodge at RedRocks, Grand Central, Café Saint-Ex, Capital Skyline Pool Bar, Bar Louie, and Sticky Rice, to name a few.
