DJ LITEBRITE – OKLAHOMA CITY, OK
This DJs journey to today started like some, but not like most. Born & raised in Frisco TX, Jalen “DJ LiTEBRiTE” Dorsey was heavily influenced by the sounds of Old School Hip Hop, R&B & Electronic music. The songs he heard at home and on the radio from mixshow DJs like Steve Nice, QuickMixxRick and ThrowDownSam sparked Jalen’s interest in the craft but after only DJing one party in High Schoo, a career as a DJ was the last thing on Dorsey’s mind. That however changed when he arrived at college in Oklahoma in the fall of 2011. House parties and campus events at were dull and seemed to lack what LiTEBRiTE quickly saw he could offer.
Over the next five years, LiTEBRiTE became a very popular DJ in western Oklahoma thriving from the lack there of. LiTEBRiTE coordinated and DJed campus events, partnered with local businesses for events & sponsorships, landed residencies at two popular bars in the college town and opened for national recording artists like Love & Theft, Clare Dunn and Granger Smith at regional music festivals. The diverse array of events LiTEBRiTE performed at during his time in college were grooming him to be an elite multi-genre DJ.
Following graduation, DJ LiTEBRiTE moved his home grown business to Oklahoma City and saw exponential growth in a newer, larger market. LiTEBRiTE landed partnerships with Mary Kay Cosmetics and the American Cancer Society as well as inking a residency at Topgolf. He also continued his festival run, playing sets at Backwood Music Festival (2015), SXSW (2016) and Rawhide Music Festival (2016) where he opened for Desiigner in Stillwater, OK. Other notable opening sets include Lil Yachty, Young Dolph, Alex Wiley & Chuck Inglish of The Cool Kids.
Although DJ LiTEBRiTE’s career is younger than many established DJs, he has spun side by side with many of his seasoned peers in Oklahoma,Texas, Kansas & Colorado. LiTEBRiTE has also traveled to California and Florida to DJ various Grand Openings and VIP nights at Topgolf and other nightclubs.
LiTEBRiTE can be described as a DJ that you not only like because of his style & song selection, but because he creates a warm & welcoming experience through his presence as an MC. DJ LiTEBRiTE has many clients who re-book and refer to others, helping the name DJ LiTEBRiTE stay on the minds of the masses.
